We invite parents and grandparents to surprise your child by being a “Mystery Reader.” Share in our learning by reading a favorite story aloud live via Zoom or record yourself reading a book. Mystery Readers can visit the classroom virtually biweekly. Readers are asked to choose a book based on your child’s favorite book or reach out to the classroom teacher for a book chosen from the classroom library.
We are looking for Mystery Readers who are willing to read a book in his/her native language. (English, Chinese, Spanish, Hungarian, Urdu or Arabic.) If you are not sure what book to read then perhaps you would be willing to share a story about your culture. Storytelling is an important part of many cultures. This would be a great opportunity to share your culture with our school community.
If you are interested in being a Mystery Reader or a storyteller, please reach out to your classroom teacher on CLASS DOJO for further information.
Remember, you are a mystery to the class. So try not to tell your child when you will be coming.
