This week was the first full week of the 2021-2022 school year and things are off to an amazing start! This Tuesday was the Mid-Autumn Festival. In Chinese culture, roundness symbolizes completeness and togetherness. A full moon symbolizes prosperity and reunion for the whole family. Round mooncakes complement the harvest moon in the night sky at the Mid-Autumn Festival. To celebrate this big holiday, we invited our students to make “mooncakes” on Tuesday with corn starch and hand lotion. Our students were so engaged at this sensory project that facilitated our fine-motor skills as well as language and cognitive development.
Our children also encouraged to create numbers (一， 二，三，四，五)in Chinese using Kinetic sand, counting tens with beans, and many more!
Have a wonderful weekend!
