This week, we focused on rules and routines in the classroom.
We read stories together such as David Goes to School, How Dinosaurs Go to School, Manners in School, etc,. and had discussions about choices the characters made in the stories. We talked about WHY we should make green choices and created a green choice and red choice chart together.
We also created our class rules together. Students signed their name on the chart as a promise to do their best in school by following our rules to build community in the classroom.
This week, we also talked about the importance of handwashing. We read a Handwashing story and sang songs. We went over each step in our handwashing chart and practiced washing our hands using a handwashing timer.
