This week we talked about who is in our family and why our family is special. Students shared their family pictures and created a house for their family using craft sticks.
We also went on our first neighborhood walk to Sunset Park. We used our senses to gather information in our surroundings. Students talked about what they saw during the walk and sketched their observations. Students also used their sense of touch to gather nature objects.
On Friday, students came to school in their costumes to celebrate Halloween. We read the book The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything and students acted out the movements with their bodies. Students created a pumpkin during centers and we ended the day with a dance party.
