Week of January 24th-28th

Hello K/1 family, today was a very eventful week for our class.

In Writing, Kindergarten celebrated their published true story pieces by reading them aloud to the class! On Monday, they will begin the new unit: How-to books. Please start generating some ideas with your child on different topics/ideas they know how to do well and can teach others about.

Our first graders are still working on the persuasive unit in Writing. We have been working on finding problems in our classroom, school, and community that we want to fix and make better! Scholars have been writing letters to different audiences that can help solve their problems.

In Math, our Kindergarten friends are finishing up module 3: comparing length, weight, capacity, and numbers to 10. They have had so much fun comparing different items and school supplies found in our classroom. Starting Monday, they will begin module 4: number pairs, and addition and subtraction up to 10.

In Math, our First Grade friends are learning how to measure different objects using centimeter cubes, rulers, and tape measures!

Reminder: There is no school on Tuesday, February 1st due to Lunar New Year.

Have a fun and safe snow-filled weekend!
