Monday, Feb 28, 8:00pm-8:50pm – Resilience
Can the way we play with our kids help them bounce back after setbacks? Our instincts as parents are often to try to fix problems. In this workshop, we’ll play with techniques that can help empower our children to find their own way through adversity We’ll share research on resilience and use those ideas to create fun, high energy exercises that help us as parents guide the kinds of conversations that help our kids solve problems and have the confidence to keep growing, no matter what comes their way.
Monday, March 7, 8:00pm-8:50pm – Adaptability
Over the past two years, we’ve had to shift and adapt more than we even knew we could. In this workshop, we’ll play with upbeat improv-based exercises that can help our kids embrace their adaptability by: exploring problems with curiosity; clearly defining when we’re exploring and when we’re taking action; and keeping a “North Star” vision of the future we want, even when temporary obstacles arise. Because Adaptability is not about changing who you are, it’s about using who you are to adjust to unique situations.
Monday, March 14, 8:00pm-8:50pm – Mindset
We know we want our kids to have a Growth Mindset, but how do we actually put that into practice? We’ll introduce and play with the improv concept of “Yes And,” and use it as a bridge between the things that are going well and the things we have yet to accomplish (or the things that we can improve). In doing this, we’ll find ways to help our kids see setbacks as opportunities to grow. And we’ll laugh a lot on the way.
