Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Mr. Ross, your child’s Physical Education Teacher. I will be encouraging your child to learn how to be physically active in ways that assist with their physical, social, and emotional well-being. It is my goal to encourage your child to participate in lifelong physical activities.
I am asking you to please have your child wear sneakers on Physical Education days. It is important for your child to come to class prepared and ready to participate in physical activities. Participation in physical activities can help increase physical competence and self-esteem.
Physical Education is the cornerstone of having an active lifestyle. I will provide the skills, knowledge and attitudes that facilitate choosing physical activity after school, at home and in the community. As a highly-qualified physical education teacher,
I pledge to:
- Establish a positive, safe learning environment for all students
- Teach a variety of physical activities that makes physical education class fun and enjoyable
- Create maximum opportunities for students of all abilities to be successful
- Promote teamwork and good sportsmanship
- Assist students in setting and achieving personal goals
- Provide specific, constructive feedback to help students master motor skills
- Prepare and encourage students to practice skills and be active for a lifetime
