It’s April and we’re getting closer to the end of the school year! During the past month or so, our class had the privilege of taking part in three residence programs (Music, Art and STEAM). The students have been enjoying learning how to play the recorder, learning and making cool art projects, and learning how to make things using LEGOS and Robotics.

We recently concluded our Poetry writing unit and the students had a chance to share their poems with their families during our first Family Friday. Our current writing unit is on Realistic Narrative where the students are writing fictional stories with plots that can happen in real life. In math, Ms. Willis and her group are working on multiplication and division, and Ms. Legaspi and her group are working on different strategies for addition and subtraction. In phonics, we’ve added new resources (in addition to Fundations and Heggerty ) to better help our students with learning how to read and write words. A couple of things to look forward to in April:
- ELA state exams for our 3rd and 4th graders. We will be sharing more information when we get back from spring break.
- Math state exams for our 3rd and 4th graders will be in May.
- In addition to writing our realistic narrative stories, we are also writing our own superhero stories which will be published! We have sent our order forms for these books. If you don’t see it in your child’s folder, please reach out to us.
We hope that everyone has a great and restful Spring Break!
