Class policies and details

As we get ready to begin the new school year I’d like to welcome you back to PS896 School of Creativity and Innovation and provide important information regarding the first few days of school. The first day of school for all students is Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 8:20 AM – 2:40 PM.  A smooth start sets the foundation for a successful year. 

Arrival & Dismissal

Arrival Location: Upper School Main Entrance (4513 8th Avenue)
Dismissal Location: Upper School – 46th Street Door

Students who arrive at 8:30AM will be marked late and families will be asked to sign a late book at the school safety desk. Families who pick up students late will be asked to line up along the fence of the Main Entrance to safely dismiss students.

Please update the following items on Operoo for your child: 

  • 2024-2025 Blue Emergency Contact Form
  • Housing Questionnaire
  • Media Consent Form
  • Walking Trip Form
  • Walk Home Alone Permission if applicable 
  • Medication Administration Form if applicable

Friendly reminder please inform us if there is a change of residential address.
