Play with Phonics

In phonics, currently students are working on using word part power, blends, and digraphs to write longer words. They start with creating their own magic words (which are nonsense words) by clapping out the syllables. In this Play with Phonics unit, students will be working on use the same strategies (clapping the syllables) to write real longer words. At home you can have your child labeling things in his/her room, helping them clapping out the syllables, and using ABC chart and/or Blends and Digraphs chart from their homework folder to write the words.
