The Kindergarten application is open!

If your child was born in 2021 and lives in New York City, they are eligible to attend kindergarten in Fall 2026.

You can still participate in admissions. Add yourself to programs’ waitlists with your MySchools.nyc(Open external link) account–learn how in this video tutorial

All families should participate in kindergarten admissions, including children currently attending pre-K, students with disabilities, English Language Learners, and students with accessibility needs.

MySchools (Open external link) includes an online directory tool that allows families to explore program choices, save programs of interest and submit their application, all on the same site.

Families can apply to Kindergarten in two ways, online at MySchools and over the phone by calling 718-935-2009. Additionally, you can share the attached flyer with your families about the Kindergarten application.

When school offers are given in the Spring, we will be asking families to accept or decline their offer in Myschools.

Families can also respond to offers by contacting the school directly at our email, mainoffice@ps896.org or by calling the Office of Student Enrollment at 718-935-2009.

Our school staff will be reaching out to confirm your acceptance and obtain an email.
