In Pre-k we are currently studying water.

Students are transforming the dramatic play area into a beach.

Students are at the water table exploring how water flows using funnels, pipes and containers of different sizes.

On a rainy day we went out on a neighborhood walk to make observations about rain. Children are feeling rain with their hands. We talked about how rain feels wet and cold. Children also said that rain splashes when it drops down.

Children stepping on puddles.

What’s happening next :

We will experiment with what happens when we place things in water. Some possible concepts that children will form a discussion about through their own discoveries can be sink and float, absorption, saturation, etc,.
