We hosted a variety of interactive workshops which allowed parents to engage with school staff and learn about different ways to help strengthen children’s skills. Families listened to book called Mixed by Aree Chung about a community who mixed and made new colors. Just like this community PS 896 is mixed. We have many different cultural backgrounds. Activities such as this resonates with our core values by implementing activities that celebrate diversity and creates a positive school culture.
