This week, Class 201 continued our exploration of the Amazon Rainforest and focused on identifying which layers of the rainforest different animals live in. We learned about the rainforest layer: Emergent layer, Canopy, Understorey, and Forest floor. Our students engaged in learning rainforest habitats in different centers.
Rainforest Dioramas
Student started making a model of rainforest in a shoebox from home. Key things included in their rainforest diorama: tall trees, rainforest animals, plants, river/waterfall, rainforest facts, and many more.
Letter to the world form the Rainforest
Students wrote a letter from the perspective of “someone or something”living in the rainforest, thinking and imagining the sights, sounds, and smells in the Amazon Rainforest. The letter clearly described what had they noticed in the rainforest and included a message about sustainability.
