Our students have been showing progress in Phonics. They have been learning and practicing letter sounds, blends, digraphs, and spelling words. The students uses what they’ve learned to support their reading and writing. During the period, the students are split into two groups but we start it as a whole class for Heggerty which is another component to better support their learning. Ms. Mullany will do drills in which she asks the students to determine rhyming words, practice identifying letter sounds, and replacing sounds with a different one to change the word. We have definitely seen improvement with the students due to the progress they have been making in Phonics.
