Today we had a special visit from the Staten Island Zoo. The kids were so excited! They got to meet and touch a turtle, lizard, and a ball snake. They learned that turtles have shells to protect themselves and also have webbed feet. They learned that a lizards skin is tough and feels like sand. And they learned that a when a ball snake is scared, it curls tightly into a ball! If you’d like to learn more about the Staten Island Zoo you can find more information on their website: http://www.statenislandzoo.org/
Reminder: School is closed Monday, October 10th due to Columbus Day.
