Welcome Families – Art

art supplies

Welcome families!
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! I am excited to introduce myself as your child’s Art teacher, Mr. Giatrakis. Our classroom is a place where each student is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. My goal is to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels supported and motivated to grow, learn, and create.

What to expect this year:

Creating: Students will be conceiving and creating original artworks this year.

Presenting: They will work on interpreting and sharing their artworks.

Responding: Understanding and evaluating how the arts convey meaning.

Connecting: Relating artistic ideas and work with their own personal experiences to create meaning.

A few things to remember:

Art is about creating a response, whether that’s making others take notice of your skill or sharing an idea/perspective– art is about letting yourself, your class, your community, or even the world know a little bit more about you. However, we cannot do this work alone. We work together as a community to help inspire and create. Our classroom will be a space of kindness, respect, and enthusiasm for learning. We will work together to create a positive and productive environment for everyone.
