Celebrations from the Month of September

This month has been filled with exciting activities! Here are some highlights:

  • We celebrated the first days of school, welcoming our students back with joy and enthusiasm.
  • Our Hispanic Heritage Month assignment has commenced, allowing students to explore and appreciate diverse cultures.
  • Curriculum Night was a success! If you were unable to attend, please reach out to schedule a time for us to connect.

Additional Information

We are thrilled to share what we’re working on in our classes:

  • Math: Our first unit focuses on the volume of rectangular prisms, following the ILC math curriculum for grade 5.
  • Reading: In our first module, we are diving into the fascinating world of inventors and inventions, using the HMH Into Reading curriculum for grade 5.
  • Writing: Students are honing their journalism skills, learning how to report and write engaging stories, aligned with the TC writing curriculum for grade 5.
  • Project-Based Learning (PBL): We are exploring food webs and chains, making connections to our environment and the importance of ecosystems.

All of these activities align with the New York State learning standards, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
