We had such a wonderful month of learning, exploring, and growing together! Here’s a look at what we’ve been working on in class this month.

🧮 Math:
This month, students focused on adding and subtracting within 10. They used number bonds, counting strategies, and visual models to solve problems with confidence. We also explored how to represent and interpret categorical data, learning to collect information, sort it into groups, and display it using simple charts and graphs. The children especially enjoyed creating their own mini surveys and discovering interesting class trends!
✏️ Writing:
In writing, students have been working on small moment stories — personal narratives about something special that happened to them. They learned to focus on one event, add descriptive details, and share their feelings to make their stories come alive. We’re so proud of the creativity and effort they put into their writing pieces!
📚 Reading:
Our reading lessons centered around understanding the author’s purpose — whether the author wrote to entertain, inform, or persuade — and identifying story structure. Students practiced recognizing the beginning, middle, and end of stories and discussed how events connect. It’s amazing to see them becoming more thoughtful and confident readers each week!
