A Great Start to a New Grade
Class 103 has been doing a fantastic job transitioning into their new grade! Students have shown excitement, growth, and enthusiasm as we dive into our new routines and learning experiences.
Core Value Spirit Week
This month, we celebrated Core Value Spirit Week, focusing on our school’s values of Integrity, Curiosity, Resilience, Collaboration, and Joy. Students explored what each value means and how they can demonstrate them every day in and out of the classroom.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
We ended the month by kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month! Our class has been learning all about Venezuela—its culture, geography, and traditions—and comparing it to other countries in Central and South America. The students have enjoyed discovering the similarities and differences between these vibrant cultures.
Math Adventures
We wrapped up our math unit on Working with Data and have now begun a new unit on Story Problems. Students are learning strategies to decide when to add or subtract, as well as how to find missing numbers in equations.
Writing Workshop
In writing, we continue to focus on Small Moment stories. Students have been crafting creative personal narratives about meaningful experiences in their lives—each story filled with detail and heart!
Reading Focus
During reading, we’ve been diving into Author’s Purpose, Central Idea and Characters. Students are learning how to think deeply about why authors write and what important messages they want readers to understand. As well as identifying characters in the story and describing their inside and outside traits.
