October Snapshot

During the month of October, our class engaged in an in-depth exploration of our Tree Unit. Students participated in a nature walk to observe various parts of trees and took part in a scavenger hunt to enhance their observational skills.

Throughout the unit, students completed a variety of projects, including observational drawings of trees, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom name trees, leaf printing, and leaf sun catchers. These activities supported their understanding of tree structures and seasonal changes.

As a class, we collaborated to create a mural representing the transformation of trees across the four seasons, reinforcing our discussions about how the environment changes throughout the year.

As we step into the month of November, our class has started a brand-new exploration of what lives in trees! The students had so much fun participating in a sorting activity, deciding which animals make their homes in trees and which ones live elsewhere.

Next, we’ll keep exploring what grows on trees — like leaves, fruit, and flowers — and discover what kinds of things are made from trees, such as paper and wooden objects.

It’s been a wonderful month filled with curiosity, creativity, and teamwork as the children deepen their understanding of the natural world.
