🌱 Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
Students are practicing empathy, learning how to understand others’ feelings, work together as a team, and make compromises during partner and group activities.
🔤 Phonics
We are reading and writing words with silent e, as well as compound words. Students are using these patterns to strengthen both their decoding and spelling skills.
📚 Reading
Our readers are identifying the theme and author’s purpose by using text clues, key details, facts, and examples from the stories and nonfiction books they read.
📏 Math
Students are estimating and measuring using centimeters, inches, and feet. They are using cm cubes and rulers as tools. We are also collecting measurement data to create line plots and explain what the data shows.
✏️ Writing
Our writers are working on their nonfiction chapter books. They are learning to use important text features such as a table of contents, headings, diagrams, captions, bold print, and a glossary. Students are also drafting their dedication page, introduction, and conclusion to make their writing complete and engaging.
Family Fridays and Thanksgiving Celebration
We were excited to have all families to our upcoming Family Friday events. We spent special mornings learning alongside your child as we explored our math centers, engaged in hands-on activities, and created winter crafts together in preparation for our upcoming Winter Concert. This season also gives us a wonderful opportunity to reflect on gratitude, and we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your continued support and partnership. As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we are so thankful for our amazing families and the strong community we share.
