February in PE (Lower)

❤️ February PE Update (3K–2nd Grade)

Heart Health, Kindness & Skill Building

February in Physical Education is all about keeping our hearts strong—both physically and socially! Throughout the month, students participated in fun, high-energy activities designed to strengthen cardiovascular endurance while reinforcing teamwork and kindness.

💓 Keeping Our Hearts Healthy

In honor of Heart Health Month, students learned:

  • Why our heart is a muscle
  • How exercise makes our heart stronger
  • The importance of staying active every day
  • Healthy habits like drinking water and getting enough rest

Through activities such as “Heart Racer Relays,” movement circuits, and dance-based warm-ups, students experienced how their heart rate increases during exercise and why that is a good thing!

🎯 Skill Focus: Object Control & Coordination

This month, we continued building object-control skills, including:

  • Underhand rolling
  • Gentle tossing and catching
  • Kicking with control
  • Striking lightweight objects

Students practiced at developmentally appropriate stations that emphasized safety, effort, and improvement rather than competition.

🤝 Kindness in Action

February also highlighted sportsmanship and cooperation. Students worked with partners and small teams to:

  • Encourage one another
  • Take turns respectfully
  • Use positive words during games
  • Celebrate effort and growth

We reinforced the message that being a good teammate is just as important as learning a new skill.

February has been filled with movement, smiles, and strong hearts! Our young learners continue to grow in confidence, coordination, and cooperation every week.
