🐝 Staff Appreciation Week – May 4–9, 2026

This week, PS 896 is celebrating the incredible people who make our school community thrive! From Monday’s Lower vs. Upper Inter-Galactic Duel to Friday’s Staff Luncheon, we have a full week of activities planned to honor our amazing staff — because they deserve a buzz-illion thanks for everything they do!

We also want to invite our entire PS 896 community to join in the celebration. Do you know a staff member who went out of their way to help a colleague or brighten someone’s day? We would love to hear from you!

We are launching a Staff Shout-Out feature in our Weekly Updates — a space to recognize the staff members who go above and beyond living out our core values of collaboration, integrity, resilience, intellectual curiosity, and joy. Whether it’s letting you borrow copy paper, picking up a soda from the store, sharing a helpful practice, troubleshooting technology, or showing up as a true team player during common planning — every act of kindness counts and deserves to be celebrated.
