Lower School PE

🌷 March PE Update (3K–2nd Grade)

Spring Into Movement!

March brought fresh energy into the gym as we “sprang” forward into skill development and movement exploration. With the arrival of spring, students focused on improving coordination, balance, and rhythm through engaging station work and movement games.

🌼 Skill Focus: Locomotor & Pathways

Students practiced:

  • Skipping and sliding with control
  • Changing directions safely
  • Moving at different speeds (slow, medium, fast)
  • Traveling in zig-zag, curved, and straight pathways

Activities like “Spring Animal Adventures” and obstacle courses helped students strengthen agility while reinforcing spatial awareness and safe movement in shared spaces.

🎵 Movement & Rhythm

March also introduced rhythm-based movement. Students explored:

  • Moving to different tempos
  • Free dance and guided movement
  • Following beat patterns with claps and steps

These activities build coordination and listening skills while keeping lessons joyful and creative.

🤝 Growing Independence

As we move further into the school year, students are showing increased independence:

  • Setting up equipment responsibly
  • Demonstrating safe transitions
  • Encouraging classmates during challenges

March has been full of growth, confidence, and active learning!
