April was a month full of learning, creativity, and discovery in our classroom! Students worked hard across all subject areas while also celebrating the importance of caring for our planet.
In Math, students explored IM Unit 5, where they focused on composing and decomposing 3-digit numbers. Through hands-on activities, place value practice, and collaborative problem-solving, students strengthened their understanding of hundreds, tens, and ones. They showed great growth in explaining their mathematical thinking and using different strategies to solve problems.
In Reading, students continued their journey through HMH Module 5: Lead the Way. Throughout the module, students read inspiring texts about leadership, perseverance, and making a positive impact. They practiced important reading skills such as identifying key details, making connections, and building vocabulary while engaging in thoughtful classroom discussions.
Our Project-Based Learning (PBL) activities centered around Earth Day and the importance of protecting our environment. Students learned about ways to care for our world by reducing waste, reusing materials, and recycling responsibly. To bring their learning to life, students designed and created their own inventions using recycled and repurposed materials. Their creativity and innovation were truly impressive as they transformed everyday items into meaningful new creations.
We are so proud of all the hard work, teamwork, and enthusiasm our students demonstrated throughout the month of April. We look forward to continuing our learning adventures together!
