September was an unforgettable month as our young learners brought our core values—Joy, Integrity, Curiosity, Resilience, and Collaboration—to life! Our friends tapped into their natural curiosity during hands-on Science explorations with forces, while building deep classroom bonds through collaborative activities like “Pass the Drawing” and our supportive “Complimenting Circles.”

The highlight of our month was opening our doors for our very first Family Visit, where students proudly guided their families through a classroom scavenger hunt. We also teamed up with Street Lab for Soccer, filling the day with high-energy movement, new sports skills, and plenty of teamwork.

I am so proud to see our friends growing into curious, kind, and resilient learners every single day. Thank you to all our families for helping make our classroom community so special!
🌟 What We Are Learning! 🌟
Math Explorations
- Grade 3:Introduction to Multiplication — Building foundational skills through equal groups, arrays, and hands-on problem-solving!
- Grade 4:Equivalent Fractions & Comparison — Visualizing, comparing, and discovering how different fractions represent the same whole!
Reading Skills (Grades 3 & 4)
Our young readers are deepening their comprehension by analyzing stories through three key lenses:
- Point of View: Identifying who is telling the story and how their perspective shapes the narrative.
- Literary Elements: Uncovering characters, settings, plots, conflicts, and resolutions.
- Theme: Discovering the big lessons, morals, and central messages behind the texts.
Project-Based Learning (PBL)
- Hispanic Heritage Month: Honoring and celebrating the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities through interactive research and projects!
Narrative Writing
Our authors are bringing their stories to life using powerful descriptive techniques:
- Stretching Out Time: Zooming in on small moments in slow motion to create suspense and detail.
- Show, Don’t Tell: Replacing plain descriptions with vivid sensory details and action.
- Act It Out: Acting out scenes to capture natural dialogue and authentic character movements before putting pencil to paper!
