September was a wonderful month filled with exploration, learning, and building our classroom community! As part of our First 6 Weeks of Creative Curriculum, we focused on helping children feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn.
During the first weeks of school, children explored our classroom centers, learned how to use different materials, and practiced classroom routines and expectations. We learned how to be safe, take care of our classroom, show kindness to our friends, share materials, and work together as a team.
We spent time learning about our feelings and emotions through stories, discussions, and hands-on activities. Children created their own Color Monsters inspired by the book The Color Monster and explored how different colors can represent different feelings.
Our friends also enjoyed many creative projects to learn more about themselves and their families. They practiced recognizing and building their names, created letter crafts, made self-portraits, and designed family portraits to celebrate what makes each family special.
Through play, art, conversations, and classroom experiences, our students are developing independence, confidence, and friendships.
