Hello friends and family! My name is Ms. Cooper and I will be your child’s Special Education teacher this year. This is my fourth year at P.S 896 and I can’t wait to see returning students as well as meet our new students. I’m looking forward to having both a fun and successful school year!

Class goals
Learning Goals for the Year
Fourth and Fifth grade will be a year full of many new adventures and challenging learning experiences that will help your child prepare for middle school.
In Reading, we will be exploring diverse literary genres and focus on skills such as comprehension, vocabulary, and critical analysis.
In Writing, we will be working on crafting well-structured paragraphs and essays where students will become actively involved in the steps of the writing process. In Math, we will deepen fundamental skills and understanding through hands-on stations that encourage critical thinking and problem solving.
In our collaborative environment, students will tackle group projects, discussions, and activities that nurture communication and teach students how to be respectful of one another.
